New Website From Children Mutual

Date: 13 November 2009

Child Trust FundLeading Child Trust Fund provider the Children's Mutual has launched a new cashback site that enables shoppers to earn money in £10 increments with thousands of retailers. The money earned can be invested directly into a Children's Mutual Child Trust Fund account of their choice as single top up contributions.

The new site works with a list of over 1,000 retailers, including high street names such as Boots, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer. It allows registered members the opportunity to get up to 20% cash back with some retailers also offering additional discount voucher codes to help on-line shoppers save even more.

Tony Anderson, marketing director of the Children's Mutual, says that the site was introduced to help parents get great value on their purchases whilst also encouraging parents and others to save through a Child Trust Fund for their child's future financial needs.

Mr Anderson also points out that expectant and new parent surveys conducted by the Children's Mutual have highlighted that 90% of respondents would like to get 'money back' for their spending on items necessary for their new child. British parents spend around £605 on items such as car seats, prams and buggies with a further £3,383 on decorating and preparing a nursery.

But the new website doesn't stop at retailers of items supporting the birth of the child. The online cash back site also has retailers of school uniforms and family holidays allowing parents and others to make additional contributions to their child's Child Trust Fund account right through their growing years. Total annual contributions to any Child Trust Fund cannot exceed £1,200 but with an average of £24 being saved per month (by those making additional monthly contributions) the added cash back earnings from on-line shopping should enhance the long term returns from the account.
