When my son was born I wanted to make sure he had a little spending money for when he is older. The Regular Saver account sets up a standing order for up to £100 per month and over the year it gets 10% interest. Once the year is up the money transfers to the childrens standard account and the process starts again. This keeps going until you tell them to stop. With the accounts on line it is easy to alter the monthly amount going in and monitor other payments - my mum puts in £10 per month and his Uncle puts in £20 per month. I really love the ease of internet banking and the ability to switch the monthly amount. My only complaints are the limit of £100 per month and the fact the system does not automatically expire after 12 months so you need to keep a not in your diary!! Overall an OK savings account for children.
