Don't know if some of you already know about this so thought I would post it here.
We all know about the child trust fund money that the child gets but did you know that you can get a maternity grant to help with buying bits and bobs for your baby. If you check here it will let you know if you can apply for it!

You can get a £500 grant that you dont have to pay back. Its not a lot but if you are on benefits it can really help you out.

Thought the amount had gone up to £550. Agree if you are on benefits it isnt a lot if you have to buy all baby equipment but its a good start!!

Thats really interesting! I had no idea something like this is available! Are these kind of things still valid when you are cohabiting or do the rules change?
Thanks, Cherry.

Hi, We got this after our son was born as we didnt qualify at the time. It came in handy for things like high chair, a new car seat once he had out grown first one ect as we already had the other bits.

You really should apply for this as recently one of my married friends found out she was eligible even though her husband earns a decent wage.

Thanks for brining this to my attention, I had no idea it existed, things like this aren't advertised as you would expect. Thanks
