There are some schools that will scam the parents by demanding you buy the official uniform with the ebroidered badge on everything. If this is the case, petition against it saying that they can sell iron-on or sew-on badges and that parents can buy uniforms where they like.

Here is a site to get a FREE tape measure to help make sure you get the size of your child's uniform correct. I would say always but abit bigger than they need as you know how fast they grow!

I always use Asda for both clothes and shoes for mylittle girl for school, the shoes are good and most of them are scuff proof. The clothes are great quality for the price they are too.

Can I just say I would never put my child into a uniform that was over a size too big for him it looks terrible when you see a child where their parents have obviously bought a uniform for them to 'grow into'. This can look just as bad as a child wearing a uniform that is too small.

I had to buy my son age 3 in a lot of his clothes just so he had items that fitted properly, I could have saved time and money buying a bigger size but as I have said I think it looks terrible.
I am aware that he will probably only get limited use of his uniform and will probably have to buy him a bigger size during the year as he grows but by that time his uniform will probably have been well worn since they do wear it every weekday (he only has 2 pairs of trousers, 2 sweatshirts and 4 shirts).

I bought 2 pairs of trousers and the best ones are the ones from M&S they were only £12 they wash brilliantly and are easy to iron and still look as good as new.
Whereas the ones from a cheaper shop (actually not that cheap-£8) have now become bobbled and the hem has come away.
I also got 2 white shirts from Asda at either £2 or £3 for both and these are great value and quality. Unfortunately he also needed polo shirts with the school badge that were £8 each.

my daughters school sent a letter the other week asking parents to send the children wearing the school sweatshirts .. as they claim some children are just wearing shirts / blouses / polo shirts...blaming the weather is too cold ...i
bought my daughter pinafores and she wears cardigans with them ...as she doesnt like wearing the sweatshirt over tehm ...
school just kids looking the same and they get commision from everything they sell with the school badge ..even though you can pick up te same sweatshirts outside for half or even less what the schools charge
in our days we could get sew on badges ....instead of having to buy the embroidered products
