My son is turning twelve and i am constantly trying you teach him how to manage money and only rewarding him if he has done what i have asked of him. My father is the oppisite and gives him money for everything he wishes for. I have asked him to stop this but he feels it is a joke.

Such is the nature of grandparenting. They've done their duty with the passing on of knowledge and responsibility (and simply by reading your post, it seems they instilled a sense of responsibility in you!). It is probably good for your child to have both sides of the coin and this will consequently reaffirm your authoritative status.

I agree with Mrs Bradley, my grandparents never left me wanting anything but not through demand. Aslong as your son is not asking for or demanding things i dont think it should affect what you are trying to teach him
