Always need to spend for children's little things - plan beforehand, and buy during the sales. Shoes, for example - they need good quality, which tend to be expensive, so I tend to buy a size larger than needed during a sale, for use later. Has always worked for my two.

If you have a Next in your area, boxing day sales are a good way to plan ahead. My cousin and I go there every boxing day, about 4 or 5 in the morning to beat the queues and buy whatever we can find, usually in larger sizes and that way stock up for the future. I know there are sales everywhere but I've found some good bargains with Next sales but you do have to be up early

i always get a few clothes in the sales and always keep an eye on ebay, you can get some good bargins there aswell. plus, when a birthday comes up, dont be shy not to ask for what you would rather your child have and not leace it up to what they want to get-sounds harsh, but you dont get a load of unwanted stuff then!

Save a fortune on laundry bills. Give your dirty shirts to a charity shop. They will wash and iron them and you can buy them back for fifty pence.

I always try to buy things in the sales and put them away for xmas. Freecycle is great, I got a few bits for the baby through them.
