Behind MyEggNest

The Birth of MyEggNest

Last year, my wife Jami and I were given the unenviable task of researching the new Child Trust Funds for Lewis (our one-year-old nephew). Since my sister had neither the time nor the knowledge to do the research, the dutiful aunt and uncle stepped forward.

We thought, "How difficult could it be for two reasonably smart individuals?".  How wrong we were. The more we researched, the more confused we were. The information on the web was ambiguous with a plethora of information available including various government departments, child trust fund providers, banks, building societies, and even advertising companies all trying to persuade us on the merits of saving for children.

After spending months looking through hundreds of websites, we were no better off than when we started. We finally concluded that the reason we were chasing our own tails was that we didn’t know who to trust. Simply, there is no credible source for independent children savings on the market.

That’s why we decided to launch MyEggNest. MyEggNest aims to provide families with the most thorough and complete source of children’s savings information online and to be a one-stop resource centre for parents looking to save for their children of any age from birth to when they leave home.

We are dedicated to providing a dynamic source of uninfluenced, unbiased, independent information on every area of children’s saving products and services.  We hope to achieve this by explaining how saving can be simple, fun, and exciting because we know financial matters can be daunting.

Finally, at the time of writing this, we are pleased to report Master Lewis has now accumulated £431.54 in his Child Trust Fund.
